Justin Bieber & Mark Wahlberg Reveal Their Basketball Drama's Origins

Justin Bieber taught the world to never say never, and for good reason, because his planned basketball movie where he costars opposite Mark Wahlberg is actually, legitimately happening.
MTV News caught up with Bieber backstage at the MTV Movie Awards after he made his surprise appearance to accept his Best Jaw-Dropping Moment Golden Popcorn, and though he wasn't able to share too much information about the project (read: any), he did tease that it was something we should look forward to.
"You'll have to see," he teased. "I can't really reveal too much about it."

Mark Wahlberg was more willing to chat about the movie at the Guys Choice Awards, where he compared it to "The Color of Money." But it turns out his road to being the "old guy" in this basketball flick wasn't a smooth one.
"So I get this call from Paramount [where they tell me about the story about] an old guy and a young guy. I'm like, 'Cool, let's get Jack [Nicholson]. Let's get Robert De Niro. Let's get Robert Duvall.' And they go, 'What about Garrett Hedlund?' " Wahlber shared. "I'm like, 'For what?' They're like, 'For the young guy.'"
Still, it sounds like a project he's pretty excited for. Wahlberg explained the process it took for Bieber to convince him that he would be a quality costar previously, saying: "He sent me a video of himself, and, yeah, I think he's really talented."
